Despite their impressive size, these sharks are known as gentle giants due to their docile nature and plankton-based diet. Like their larger counterparts, the Whale Sharks, Basking Sharks are filter feeders, swimming with their wide mouths open to filter water for plankton and small fish. However, it’s important to note that Basking Sharks are predominantly found in temperate rather than tropical waters.
